We are a center right country

I heard this last night while I was enjoying the whining on Fox. WE ARE A CENTER LEFT COUNTRY. We have won the popular vote in 5 of the last 6 elections. Anytime I get into a political discussion with any repub, I will remind them of that and watch their head explode.

They keep saying that, hoping it is true. But it's not. Especially when the issues are presented clearly instead of under the crazy-spin of wingnuts.

It's over 50% now... I think that's a pretty good indicator that we are a center left nation.

and it's slowly happening within the Democratic party. Adding LGBTQ rights to their plank this year, finally, is a step in the right direction. It means they're getting it and I think leaving God out was an intentional step in the right direction as well. I don't think the Democratic party overlooked that, I think it was their way of trying to remove religion from politics as it has no place there.

Moderate Republicans of the 70s would be trashed as left wing ideologues.

the electoral college favors republicans beyond their numbers.
the corrosive effect of money in elections favors republicans and keeps democrats dependent on moneyed interests.
this helps them win key state elections which lets them gerrymander and get an edge in congress.

the PEOPLE are center-left, but their voice is rather small by the time it gets to washington.

If the PTB were smart, THAT'S where they would use e-voting election fraud.

we, the people, are center right. The concept we live in a representative type of republic is a joke.
