If a corporation is a person, do we have to spend our own money to save it, if it is about to collapse, and can't fund its way out of failure just like we treat real people in our emergency rooms?
Just thought it was a funny comparison to make, though not funny funny, just what comes with a comparison to being a person.

(29,194 posts)only the banks depositors will get their money back, not the corporation or it's owners / investors.
Not only that but the deposits were, except for the amount SVB sold before it collapsed, safe.

(8,790 posts)the un-fathomable things we could list, that the Republicans have used to destroy our middle class, destroy our economy, decimate our democracy, and trash our U.S. Constitution.................
The one thing the Republicans have done, which minimizes all the other things, is taking over the USSC and passing "CITIZENS UNITED" in 2010
More than all the others combined, that single act was truly the KISS OF DEATH to America...........
Citizens United was the real prize, a way to finance fascism with monies from unknowable agents.

(542 posts)to the knuckle draggers who don't want the "gummint" making decisions for them is to ask them if it would be ok for Bank of America to define life for them. Or Boeing (Since the McDonald Douglas takeover.)
I guess that any corporation would work but everyone has a Bank of America horror story.

And since they're not citizens, they are using foreign money to buy all three branches of government (and my local school board).
