I was near a TV when the news of 1-6 was breaking. And any second I expected there to be a fire fight. I keep waiting for it. Yet, throughout the entire ordeal, only ONE shot was fired. Amazing discipline there, I don't know anyone who would have stopped with one shot if there was a lynch mob trying to break into their house. I was always under the impression, apparently mistaken, the rooftops in DC were full of snipers to stop just such an incident. Surely, they don't need a direct order to engage a threat of that magnitude.
Next time? Who knows. How many MAGAt police and military officers would be willing to fire on their buddies? Their family?

Trump moved ahead of Desantis by six hundreths of a percent in the boondock poll from the northeastern tip of Maine. How is that going to translate over to his base and give him a margin over Biden?
