Well, the process is moving forward, a bit of good news on my home buying adventure.

Found a new two level town house just ways away where we are living now. I’m like it and so does my mother. Very few steps with good size living space. It is up in $300 thousand range. Gonna be a good place for my mother which is my many concern. Now starts the task of the loan and getting it through and finished. But to my surprise, the actual cost of the older houses in the area! So, that’s why I’m buying new! Cheaper in the long run cuz the cost of upkeep is so expensive. Darned if you do and darned if you! Wish me luck!

Your mom is very lucky to have you!

It sounds like a great place that will fit your needs.

If you put your mom's name on the deed, please have lawyers ensure that any magat relatives cannot swoop in & take "their" share, in the event of your mom's demise.

I think real estate law is a state thing & I'm certainly not an attorney, but have known elders who had to sell to pay out to their kids upon the death of the spouse.

Best of luck to you & mom as you negotiate the mortgage process & get all moved into your new home!

Looking forward to more updates.
