The co-founder of Ben & Jerry's ice cream just awarded Aaron Maté a journalism award, specifically citing his pro-Russia propaganda on Ukraine, his denial of chemical weapons attacks in Syria, and his interviews with Syria Nazi Party surrogate Dennis Kucinich.

when did Ben and Jerry’s sell to Unilever?

It was sold in 2000 to multinational conglomerate Unilever and operates as an independent subsidiary. Its present-day headquarters is in South Burlington, Vermont, with its factory in Waterbury, Vermont. Ben & Jerry's Homemade Holdings, Inc.

He doesn't name the person, just says he is a co-founder.
Then I read it and it seems that a panel of judges made the award and no mention whether this unnamed founder was part of the panel.
I am perplexed at the tweet and its alleged newsworthiness. (Not aimed at DU's OP but at the Tweeter.)
