DjT's possible future

Although having DjT arrested and incarcerated would rightly make an historic example of him, to me it is far more positively effective to make sure he's banned from ever again running for or taking any public office.

And indictment and arrest means nothing. Remember "You can indict a ham sandwich"?

It all comes down to a Jury Trial and if 12/12 jurors can agree to guilt.
'
And even then... none of the charges most likely will carry jail time in this case.

After TWO impeachments, COVID flailing, thousands of lies and international shame...

Will turn from him after a couple politically charged indictments (as they see it)

It's going to take 75m+1 to win in 2024.

Swing those States the other way and Trump wins.

We need to be ready for anything in 24.

We've ALWAYS been the party of "outworking the other guys" and we'll need to do it again.

But I don't think there is any logic to a Trump voter.

He taps into basic, instinctual emotions...

He literally won in 2016 by getting NEW voters to the polling places because he convinced them they were the "forgotten Americans" and "left behind"...

Here's an off topic story.

In 2016 I was still working for a major SoCal Biopharma.

I worked DAILY with other engineers and MD's and Ph.D's...

I regularly talked with extremely educated people who supported Trump and not for the reasons some might expect.

They spoke of "breaking the system". That the Neocon GOP and the Democratic Party really only "covered" 70% of the American public.

I clearly remember this Chinese American co-worker, a decades long Professor at a major Ivy League University and he said, "Trump is an idiot. I knew he was an idiot before he came down the escalator but his utter idiocy is precisely why his candidacy is important. It will result in a future sharpening and clarification of the two party system. Traditional politicians agree 75% of the time and the other 25% of the time pander to groups to show their differences."

In retrospect, now I can see that the parties HAVE become more polarized but I don't think that's necessarily bad.

When the Democratic Party no longer feels a need to keep one foot in the "my fellow politician" pool, progress can be made.

And IS being made.
