You can watch the documentary at ESPN but make sure you have copious tissues.
As we watch the MAGAts and their criminal monster leader whip up hatred and mayhem, remember that this planet is still full of wonderful, decent, loving people of all races.

(34,372 posts)Your mind stays sharp while your body shuts down and there's nothing you can do but try to make peace with it. You can't fight it like a cancer diagnosis. It's a death sentence; the only question is how much time will you have? My dad was always no-nonsense. He was diagnosed in January and died on June 5, 2 days before his 77th birthday. Randel is so young, and that makes it that much more tragic and unfair. I'm glad they have each other because it's going to get rough.
Thanks for posting.

(268,925 posts)died from ALS a few years ago - the worst part of his illness was that he was a medical doctor who knew everything that was going on as he deteriorated. He was Randel's age.
I think that's why I bawled so much - it reminded me of a kid I knew from birth.

(268,925 posts)How hard it must have been for your dad and all of you watching him decline.
It is painful.

(64,995 posts)I believe he died a year after grade school but we didn't go to tge same HS. So, I'm not 100% sure.
But, we'd see him at church on Sundays & he was obviously worse every year, and I was just a kid. Even at 11 or 12, I could tell.
It's awful.
