Washington CNN
Former Vice President Mike Pence balked at the idea of a potential indictment of Donald Trump, categorizing any possible prosecutorial actions as politically charged and not what the American people want to see.
Speaking with ABCs Jon Karl during a taped interview Saturday, Pence defended any peaceful protests that may break out at Trumps behest, after the former president called for his supporters to take our nation back, while still condemning the egregious violence that the country witnessed at the US Capitol on January 6, 2021.
The American people have a constitutional right to peacefully assemble, Pence said, adding, The frustration the American people feel about what they sense is a two-tiered justice system in this country, I think is well founded. But I believe that people understand that if they give voice to this if this occurs on Tuesday, that they need to do so peaceful and in a lawful manner.
Pences comments underscore his attempts to walk a fine line in issuing criticism and support for his former boss amid mounting expectations that he will vie for the Republican presidential nomination. Just last week, at the annual Gridiron Club dinner in Washington, DC, the former vice president issued his most blistering comments yet about Trumps role in the attack on the Capitol.
President Trump was wrong. I had no right to overturn the election, and his reckless words endangered my family and everyone at the Capitol that day, and I know that history will hold Donald Trump accountable, Pence said at the dinner.

Pence is such weasel. Apologies to weasels. Pence, "I know that history will hold Donald Trump accountable."
Well indicting him and putting TFG on trial is part of holding him accountable.

Country built on false promises and lies.

(46,697 posts)Mike Pence is displaying a quality that most minorities can spot. They do create exceptions for themselves. We know what they did to Bill Clinton, and they had no reservations about bending the rules to try and bring him down. And we know that if it was Obama, well, we know that they would be yelling the same words when they went after Clinton: No man is above the law.
And, oh btw, history began ticking on January 7, 2022.

(23,197 posts)We didn't WANT a president who made a mockery of the rule of law*. But HIS actions made it NECESSARY that we DO see a former occupant of the Oval Office INDICTED, CHARGED, CONVICTED and SENTENCED!
(* which is why 81 MILLION voters voted AGAINST him....)

Pence es un cobarde, coward to the nth degree! That blank eyed, expressionless face 😈 makes me shudder. wui cocoman ( scarry shite) como [like] un diablo or a mal [ bad, evil] hombre
Sabes, you know odious traitor, racist y sexual predator is outward a out his maldad [ bad behavior, meanness ] pero, behind Pences blank stare there is seemingly ungodly person whom given the chance will return this country to post civil war, Jim Crow, re-establish segregated society and criminalize women reproductive rights, and LGBTQ rights as well-- imo given power he'd be worse than *pendejo#4 [fucking moron #45. ] Imo, like DeSatan in FL, Pence does not lack intelligence--both are dangerous to our democracy.
Paz.

(82,383 posts)which would at least be news on this subject. What Mike Pence wants the American people to think is less accurate than what they might actually think as determined by scientific methods.

I want to see indictments to the left of him, indictments to the right of him, and him stuck in the middle.

What I dont want to see is some crybaby shitass like Mike Pence who, even after Trump tried to have him killed, doesnt have the guts to stand against Trump.

became V.P. because Putin picked him via Manafort.

(21,737 posts)But what this American did not want to see most is a President who is a serial criminal and a traitor.
Now we Americans have to play the cards we have been dealt. There is no other rational choice.

(294 posts)Liar!!!!!!. He doesn't want to testify because he'll be forced to admit that he never called the FBI to report the treasonous plot to overthrow democracy. He should be indicted. As vice president, he had a moral and legal obligation to report such activity. He's just looking for a way out of going to prison. What would mother say? All are grifters.

(5,366 posts)A reality dislocation problem of sorts. Selective memory perhaps.
"I know that history will hold Donald Trump accountable."
Translation: Let things die down, let the history books use Strong Words when they talk about TFG - and that is about the only level of response needed!
After all, I was VP at the time, and it didn't seem too bad to me then.
Shallow thinking at its best! Not going to happen, nor should it.
But Pence has to speak softly about the past. Otherwise, it will become obvious he did nothing to tone down Trump's insanity, and that would make Pence look incompetent as a past VP and affect his future political ambitions.
