working and watching the Meidas Touch live screen on youtube. I watched about 9 minutes of MSNBC and then they kicked me off.
back when he was the worst president in the history of the USA, i was active on twitter and often when he tweeted some fascist hateful bullshit, denying the crimes he had clearly committed, I'd tweet back at him, "Just because you've always gotten away with it does not mean you always will."
he didn't believe that. at times I didn't believe that and it grieved me something fierce.
motherfucker. it's happening.

(28,787 posts)1. he got the charges read to him and they are serious as a heart attack
2. Judge warned him against inciting violence, attacking the DA/Judge, etc and possibly even suggested that he would be subject to contempt and/or a gag order
3. there's no adoring crowd of cultists outside
sorry! that's nothing to do with his hair but how clearly unhappy he's looking on the way out.

(28,787 posts)looking forward to reading them and hearing his actual exposure: 25 years? 50 years?
i don't expect him to do time on these charges though but there should definitely be more coming down the pike

(46,025 posts)Pence and Meadows testifying in J6. Obvious criminal charges related to the documents he stole. Georgia.
I don't know if we can get J6 to stick, but the others are obvious. Plus, these days Truth Social is dying and costing him mega-bucks.

(28,787 posts)i won't give the cynical naysayer inside me a platform today. suffice to say she whispers in my ear.
his base is shrinking big time. no one loves a loser right?

(46,025 posts)First, many of the leaders are in jail. Second, he let them rot there. No one is going to stick their neck out for him on a large scale. J6 was his glory day, and it's over.

(7,522 posts)I read that of course she's lending her support verbally, but chose to spend the time in a country club. The article I read specified "country club" so I assume not MAL? I wouldn't blame her for wanting to get out of town and her usual digs away from all this.
https://slate.com/human-interest/2023/03/trump-indictment-melania-reaction-arraignment.html
This has led to a lot of idle chatter about how Melania may have taken the news. Jimmy Kimmel imagined her smiling for the first time in years. At least one person used A.I. to generate an image of the former first lady screaming at her husbands arrest. Social media users have already moved on to who Melania should date after her inevitable divorce: Pete Davidson is the clear favorite.
Its all speculation, of course. This is hardly the first time many of us have struggled mightily to understand the enigma that is Melania. During the Trump administration, it sometimes felt like we were all tourists at Buckingham Palace, waving our hands manically at the royal guards, desperately searching for even the tiniest flinch of a reaction. But Melania, ever impenetrable, always stared straight aheadand stood by her man. In public, I would expect to see much of the same this time around. But in private, at least, reports have implied that its a different story.
[....]
The Daily Mail reported, however, that Melania does not currently plan to be present at her husbands arraignment, denying us all the pleasure of seeing what outfit she would have deemed arraignment-appropriate. All for the bestmore time for Melania to work on her NFT collection.

(4,741 posts)You have to have some there "there" to be enigmatic, and she doesn't have anything of substance to her. She's an empty-headed, money-grubbing living blowup doll, who probably hasn't thought about anything but clothes, jewelry, money, and Pilates for most of her adult life.
She has demonstrated zero interest in anything intellectual. Not even a favorite song, never mind a painting. I bet she hasn't read a book since middle school, or whatever the equivalent was in that former SSR she came from.
Enigmatic, my foot.

(4,429 posts)Technically, if found guilty, the Judge would have to decide a sentence.
Would it not be sweet if he had to serve 4 years EACH on 34 counts consecutively? (That would make it 126 years behind state bars).
