US Target removing rainbow theme products due to a small group, or a singular person, harrassing staff or shoppers is, in a sense or more likely eventuallity, Corporate Terrorism. It's a MAGA Monster of
Fear of Differences that constantly needs to be fed to satisfy extremism or maybe powerful elites on twitter etc. A divided Community is a Community that can be more easily viewed as needing control. U can't teach kids about diversity, sex, race, citizen rights, true history etc but they can get & hide a gun at 18 or be indoctrinated to push an extreme movement of fear & self entitlement that negatively affect large segments of society or business.
Now that Target has caved in and removed product, who and what will be next. A win is a win, even if stock market dips just briefly. Its still a boastable win. Next it'll be books or make-up or certain toys or foreign made products or the location of store or the types of staff/customers. I mean who doesn't love rainbows! But then Next it'll drift to other States or countries like my country Australia, like school shootings (2 days ago that happened here as a 15yo allegedly got guns & shot at school from school carpark, & thats a first iv heard of such crime here where I live - noone was hurt thankfully). Or the next drift to Aust might be Conservative, likely illegal, Political power grab (Morrison-tick) or anti vacc (tick) or more extremist racist sexist crime (yesterdays warning put out by Aust ASIO so tick).
I read that its a very small number of parents that are causing the banning of school books in Florida. I think it was 15 or so. So whats next...Whos next...Where's next... & should Target have caved rather than protecting staff & sensible Community freedoms.
Again I stress in my posts to whoever can help...focus on extreme Republican/MAGA now & at next Election with constant Compare & Contrast simple slogans, graphs, maps, statistics, Future Scenarios likely between Democrat/Moderates vs extreme Right. Use DU for such ideas as this is essentially a Democrat Platform. Use Maga own words against them. Use my Country as a Country comparison that has less guns, more health care & public safety nets & public schools & public infrastructure & easier elections & more trust & less fear. Compare & contrast US States & Political Party crime/ corruption histories. Use fasts, easy to quickly comprehend images, maps, graphs & statistics at all levels of public & private discourse. Discuss Next Gen children's rights and "How would your children want their future" Nothings perfect but I live a good life here. Both my children lived & learned reasonably well, despite being in a low income, single parent family. They both now have businesses. One with several staff. We dont fear leaving our homes...yet. I spent a year in USA driving every day and saw how things were cross States & even just cross roads, and then how some less than desirable cultural/political/corporate aspects spread to Aust from USA when I got home.
I LOVED your Parks and Countryside and many people helped me. Your Universities & obvious Public/Private talent left me in awe. My son is named after one of those who helped me. So now we are crossing our fingers in the hope that US ciizens can help save US back to a more healthy moderate 2 party polical system of governance.
