Wisconsin: Signatures go in today, so it's time to start REGISTERING VOTERS. Here's how.

http://gab.wi.gov/clerks/directory

Thanks to our benevolent Governor Koch, er, Walker, one is now required to have a voter ID to exercise their rights at the polls. No more same-day registration. Additionally, the Republicans revised the law to ensure there is no longer a Statewide Registry Deputy (SRD) program in the State. Now one must be certified to register voters by the Municipal Clerk of the area in which the voter lives.

Here's the very general approach we are taking in our area to overcome these obstacles.

State-wide there are something on the order of 28,000 volunteers who worked on the Recall Walker petition effort. We wish to get as many of those from our area certified in as many local Municipalities as possible. To that end, we're attempting to conduct group training sessions where vols can get certified by multiple clerks at one training session.

By inviting all the area clerks to a few large sessions we are hopefully making their lives easier in that they will not all have to individually certify hundreds of volunteers.

By having a few large sessions for our volunteers, it makes it easier for them to be certified in multiple areas.

At that point we can begin hosting registration events where People from any area Municipality can come and be registered.

We think our plan has some promise, but we feel like we're inventing the wheel a little bit here too. I welcome all suggestions, criticisms, correction of errors, etc. Please let me know your thoughts.

Here's the flowchart with the path to proper registration and ID.
