(10,624 posts)Autumn approaches not chosen because of glare.
Rubber ball chosen--different from others. Good use of contrast. Posed, but interesting. Second was "Silent".
Many are just, "Oh, I'm a tourist"--"Overpass," "Rooftop," "Observing" ...

(8,563 posts)Having participated in a few of these contests, I honestly appreciate all the entries. Seeing everyones creative side is wonderful.
Heres what I appreciate about Rubber ball
:
-Great composition. The diagonal shaft of light adds movement to the sphere (imho)
-Contrast. The high contrast of black and white is aligned perfectly to the theme.
-Sphere/ball. Rule of thirds has been applied. The roundness contrasts nicely with the straight lines and angles.
-Theme. The shadow in this photo clearly captures the theme. One lone white element enters the darkness (metaphor/allegory) and casts a long shadow. Its smart, clever, provocative. Minimal but effective.
Now Im going to head over to the photography forum to see who composed this. I thought it was a terrific submission.
