The National Republican Congressional Committee used its latest ad against President Obama to mock Rachel Maddow.
The ad challenges President Obama to move ahead with the controversial Keystone XL Pipeline project. It mocks Maddow's actual "Lean Forward" ad for MSNBC, where she stands in front of the Hoover Dam talking about the demand for infrastructure jobs. The NRCC's version is titled "Lean Backwards."
The ad features a Maddow lookalike in glasses, a gray hoodie and a brunette wig in front of the same backdrop. Ironically, it uses Maddow's argument for government-backed infrastructure projects to push for the pipeline. "Weve got a project like this waiting for the Presidents go ahead - supported by Republicans and Democrats, labor unions. Itd provide energy security and up to 130,000 jobs," the lookalike says.

(12,804 posts)and of course it would poke fun at the GOP obsession with her and with their Freudian slip "Lean Backwards". The 'R' in Republican stands for "Regressive"!!!!

(37,540 posts)Hey, private energy companies...you put up the bonds that will be required to deal with the environmental risks that pumping hot liquid sandpaper through thousands of miles of steel tubes will create. The government shouldn't be socializing the risks while the profits get privatized. There are better energy strategies that create long term employment with little/no environmental impact and reward the taxpayers and consumers of this country by reducing our dependence on foreign oil..
