The deSantis behavior really speaks volumes

Biden is coming to Florida and deSantis is avoiding meeting with him.

Yes, deSantis is a sniveling coward with a petty streak. But we all knew that already.

What it really says to me is that he knows that the GOP is a pit of vipers and he can't trust them to be honorable.

Under the circumstances, any reasonable political party would let him meet with Biden in a time of crisis because it is what is traditional and what is good for the state.

But he knows that his party is a sludge pit and his political opposition will use a harmless photo op against him as campaign fodder.

Of course it is ridiculous that such a thing would be seen in a negative light in the first place but even more ridiculous that it would be weaponized against him.

It is an indictment of the entire party.

1. Both things can be simultaneously true. He's a sniveling coward from a party of vipers.

But for many Republicans, especially the MAGAt variety, they'll see snubbing the President as a "win" for the Swamp Napoleon, and I'm sure he factored that into his decision to disrespect the man and office.

2. I noticed during the GOP debate that they bashed Christie for meeting with Obama following Sandy.

Nobody criticized DeSantis for voting against any relief funds for States affected by Hurricane Sandy.

Doing your job and serving your citizens doesn't matter if your having to accept help from some "Socialist".

He knows his cosplay pudding flicking at Biden won't lose Florida a dime in federal relief.

...on a polite-but-vicious comment about DeSantis' failure to show up, something to put the final nail in the DeSantis campaign coffin. The brain-dead little fascist.

I understand Governor DeSatan couldn't be here as he was busy pitting Mikey Mouse on the rack.

I'd go with DeSantis' actual name rather than "DeSatan," but that's a minor judgment call on my part.

7. Trump would sneer when Democratic states were hit with crisis and needed Federal Assistance
Sat Sep 2, 2023, 01:17 PM
Sep 2023

He sneered at the PR Governor during Hurricane Maria, he sneered at California during devastating fires, he sneered at NY for Covid deaths. In other words, he made it clear that tragedy is no reason to come together as a nation. A Republican Governor would have to shake hands with a Democratic President - "so humiliating". The Republican's hate for Gov of NJ Chris Christie started during his time of working visibly with Obama during H. Sandy.

From the beginning they politicized the pandemic. They can't ditch their us vs them thinking, even in crisis.

16. DeSantis voted AGAINST funding for Superstorm Sandy victims

This is personal for me because Sandy affected many of my neighbors. I can't help but get irritated every time Florida sticks their hands out and expects NY, NJ and Pennsylvania to put our tax dollars into it to pay for their disasters.

Red staters are only Americans when it benefits them.
