"Our nation, and our world, is in crisis and our “elected” officials have failed us.

They refused to hold their bankrollers—Wall Street—responsible for the financial crimes that bankrupted our nation and destroyed the global economy."

This last legislative cycle was the least productive in recorded U.S. history; 90% of the country disapproves of these “elected” officials.

We refuse to accept the grim future that Wall Street’s cronies have designed. We refuse to be the 1%’s captive citizenry. We stand together to show that the 99% are creating a better world.

The 99% will no longer be complacent. Our many voices will be amplified on the steps of Capitol Hill. We shall have a nation by, for, and powered by the people once again. We are building it.http://occupywallst.org/

lofty political positions that can't deliver and they cater to the 1%. It's a recipe for failure for the majority of the country. They try to ignore and/or suppress OWS, but the tension is building. The masses are getting fed up with the incompetence and bribery.

ever be a day when I would actually have an opportunity to drink an expensive bottle of wine like one of my states political welfare recipients can?

"On Friday, we reported that Economist and Rutgers associate business professor Susan Feinberg busted Rep. Paul Ryan’s chops over his dinner tab at Washington’s Bistro Bis, confronting the Congressman after his meal for partaking in $350-a-bottle wine, while his party seeks painful cuts to government programs for senior citizens and the poor. On Monday, liberal radio and TV host Thom Hartmann interviewed Ms. Feinberg about her wine-sleuthing, meal-interrupting ways.

Hartmann opens by noting the poor optics involved in ordering $700 worth of wine with your buddies “while you’re busy discussing how to screw poor people and privatize Medicare,” and on that count, I say fair enough. Hot Air‘s Allahpundit tried to equate this story with Michelle Obama’s recent burger run, and while there are significant differences, both stories do tend to superficially reinforce ideas that their subjects’ opponents have already formed. I would also argue that Ryan’s actions were not hypocritical, but entirely consistent with his principles. During the interview, Feinberg says she asked him how he can live with himself, but from Ryan’s point of view, that $700 worth of wine is going to trickle right down to some minimum wage family. In France."http://www.mediaite.com/tv/thom-hartmann-interviews-the-woman-who-confronted-paul-ryan-for-drinking-350-wine/

This political welfare recipient has access to that insider trading.... He needs to stop abusing the system....

Why do middle class people vote Repub?

They identify with concervatives
They are pro-life
They are religious conservatives

But they are loosing money and quality of life.

What needs to be said to these people to get
them to understand they are voting for people
who are cutting their incomes and benefits?

A diverse crowd of hundreds from around the country descended on Capitol Hill Tuesday as the Occupy movement tried to get its point across to a Congress returning from a long recess.

"We came to add to the numbers, to be heard," said Rosetta Star, a social entrepreneur from Asheville, N.C. "We came to inspire others; we came to inspire our children. We came because we can't sit still and pretend like nothing is going wrong, when we feel like the collective bus of the country is getting driven off a cliff."

Star, who with her husband, Jack, runs the restaurant Rosetta's Kitchen and a compostable packaging firm, Jack's Boxes, as well as a third business, said she wanted Congress to stop paying the majority of its attention to the most fortunate.

"Our systems are flawed by a for-profit mentality, and therefore the needs of the masses are being ignored for the profits of the few," said Star, who is managing to make a go of her own entrepreneurial ventures while balancing activism.http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/01/17/occupy-congress-capitol-hill_n_1211294.html
