Everything is displaying very strangely for me, I don't know how to describe it, but it looks really weird. I don't even know if this post is going to work, but we'll see.

It didn't look anything like the new OR old version of DU on my tablet for several hours today, but it seems fine now.

4. prob a stylesheet not loading - had that earlier - reload,click reload with shift, command option, shift command

one of those options should work, EarlG has clearer instructions, I get that problem a lot, but usually restore it with some version of loading this link https://upload.democraticunderground.com/styles/style-main.css

and then reloading with some option (clik with shift option, etc whatever the windows equivalent is )

I tried reloading several times to no avail, but I didn't know the other tricks you just posted, so thanks for this.
