Tedros - 1,000 patients in hospital- some screaming on floor

Tedros. - “The reports of ongoing hostilities and heavy bombardment in #Gaza are petrifying.

Yesterday our team visited Nassar Medical Hospital in the south. It was packed with 1,000 patients — 3 times over its capacity. Countless people were seeking shelter, filling every corner of the facility.

Patients were receiving care on the floor, screaming in pain.

These conditions are beyond inadequate - unimaginable for the provision of health care.

I cannot find words strong enough to express our concern over what we’re witnessing.”

Ceasefire. NOW.

HAMAS has broken not one ceasefire on 10/7 but now two ceasefires. They also went back on their word on the number of prisoners they would release. Perhaps instead of tweeting Tedros should be talking to HAMAS.

point out that prior to 10/7 was a ceasefire in name only and both sides had been doing violence to each other throughout the period since the IDF Operation known as Breaking Dawn in August of last year which was the latest supposed "ceasefire". The idea that the governmental radicals on one side and the terrorists on the other want to ever stop committing violence against each other is a fantasy they sell to followers/suppliers by way of media, phony words of "diplomats" and use of dishonest "intermediaries for peace". It was this way long before 1948 and it has continued. I have said from the beginning shortly after this latest outrage on 10/7 that none of the players involved including the world powers has given or ever will really give a damn about the average Palestinian or Israeli citizen who just wants to get up and go to work and raise their children. It is all about money, power, hate, revenge, greed and manipulation by all parties involved to further their individual aims. The entire matter from the days of the Ottomans forward is the most vile and despicable display by the world of the worst that humanity can be.

People stabbing Israelis on the streets, in stores and cafes, firing rockets, attacking and slaughtering innocent women and children and taking hostages on 10/7. Israelis shooting children throwing stones, dropping bombs instead of using troops knowing those bombs are killing women and children, blowing off the arms and legs of children who survive who had nothing to do with 10/7. Then each retreats to their "benefactors" and officials in government and pat themselves on the back for what they've done. Each act more despicable than the one before while each person conducting themselves in such a way as I've described claims righteousness. But there is no soul inside people like this. If I could wave my hand and wipe away the people who are doing this now, the people who have done this in the past, the ones planning to do it in the future and bring back the lives of innocents and heal the wounded I would gladly exchange my life if God granted me that prayer. But I know I am simply a mortal and that won't happen and so I will have to remain sick to the point of vomit to watch the easy acceptance for doing this by the actors I've described and general acceptance the world displays for this to continue year after year and decade after decade.

Hamas broke it, and would not continue the most recent of them. Refused to continue release of hostages. I suspect this likely owes to their having been murdered for shits and giggles, or that the tales they would tell would shock the conscience of any but hard-core Jew-haters.

You seem to envision a situation in which one side has free rein, and the other may not under any provocation use force in response. The whimpering about 'international law' is risible, and in fact has a distinctly conservative tone, as embodied in Mr. Wilhoit's maxim:

“Conservatism consists of exactly one proposition, to wit: There must be in-groups whom the law protects but does not bind, alongside out-groups whom the law binds but does not protect.”

Most commentary by persons posturing in support of 'Palestinian resistance' is quite clearly insisting Israel must abide by law while Hamas need not abide by it.

Which Israel was more than willing to continue despite Hamas sending a team to murder civilians in Jerusalem.

Hamas could have extended the ceasefire by releasing hostages. Instead they chose to release rockets at Israeli cities.

It is very clear which side is more interested in a ceasefire.
