I always figured there had to have been a real ethics violation skeleton in Newt's closet to warrant such a bi-partisan vote. This sounds totally plausible as I see Gingrich as the archetypal influence peddler, using his name and position to enrich himself at every opportunity. Too bad he wasn't prosecuted for his crimes at the time. Kind of wish this would gotten exposed further down the primary season as he looks to have been gaining on Mitt.
