A janitor in the area he was speaking gets $18.50 and hour or $38,000. a year. $18.50 divided by 30 equals $.62 and hour.... 62 cents an hour. Typical Republican attitude....

2. Newt has no idea what a janitor does

It's not just picking up trash - it's working with what could be dangerous machinery (floor buffers), chemicals, working on ladders, dealing with the aftermath of whatever tomfoolery the student body gets into (my brother-in-law, a good ol' country boy, tells stories of removing the scent sacs from skunk roadkill and putting them under a carpet or rug to be stepped on by students), etc.
