I've only seen a few episodes of the Family Guy, none recently. The blurb I read on Carter Pewterschmidt said he could have been modeled on Ted Turner...

Carter looks exactly like Ted, and he's just as wealthy. Not sure if Ted is as greedy as him, but probably.
