Good news is the case can move forward during that appeal process.
Channel 2 investigative reporter Mark Winne obtained a copy of the Certificate of Immediate Review signed by Judge Scott McAfee, who ruled on Friday that Willis and her office could stay on the case if Special Prosecutor Nathan Wade withdrew, which he did on the same day.
The judge Friday also declined a defense request to dismiss the indictment against former President Donald Trump and others in the wake of defense claims about a romantic relationship between District Attorney Fani Willis and Wade.

(3,953 posts)This is about allowing Trump, aka TSF, to take 'retribution' on another woman who has the spine to stand up and hold him accountable for his crimes. Added benefit of attempting to intimidate other officials who might consider upholding the rule of law.
Time for me to take more blood pressure medicine.

(22,430 posts)No delay of the trial, and there's a solid chance the appeal won't even be heard, or will be dismissed if it is heard. I believe it also does away with Trump's ability to appeal this particular issue later on, like if he gets convicted and is trying to seek a mistrial or something like that.
As you can tell, I'm not a lawyer

(1,409 posts)Will they even pursue the appeal since it doesn't serve to delay the case? IANAL, obviously.
