Bing AI Copilot won't give the answer to who won the 2020 election

This is totally unconscionable. Someone must have intentionally put this exception in to the Bing chatbot.

Go to
https://www.bing.com/chat

Enter "Who won the 2020 US Presidential Election"

AI answer:
"Looks like I can't respond to this topic." ... "It might be time to move onto a new topic"

I just tested myself just now. WTF!?

I did as well, same result.

So then I tried "did Joe Biden win the 2020 presidential election", same result.

Last but not least, "who is the president of the united states", same result!

So next I tried "who are the senators from California and got...
The current U.S. Senators from California are Alex Padilla and Laphonza Butler, both of whom are Democrats1. California has a rich history of representation in the Senate, having been represented by 47 people since it was admitted to the Union on September 9, 1850.

Bing and the content on "Microsoft Start" is pretty far from shore of reality. Now to integrate that point of view into a chatbot that is nominally there to answer any question just makes my teeth ache.

MS tries to convert me to their apps or whatever they're called.

I have tried, and so far like, ChatGPT, and when I asked the same question they responded with...

"Joe Biden won the 2020 US Presidential Election. He became the 46th president of the United States, defeating the incumbent president, Donald Trump."

I've used them probably less than 10 times, but on each occasion I was literally blown away with their response.

For example, one time I posted the lyrics to a popular rock song, which was a 'happy' song, and asked them to change the tone from happy to sad. 10 seconds later I got this incredible redo of the lyrics, absolutely amazing.

I quoted a Wired article on the bonehead result you showed.

DuckDuckGo offers "anonymous" access to AI chatbots through new service

snippet (emphasis mine)
As DuckDuckGo itself states in its privacy policy, "By its very nature, AI Chat generates text with limited information. As such, Outputs that appear complete or accurate because of their detail or specificity may not be. For example, AI Chat cannot dynamically retrieve information and so Outputs may be outdated. You should not rely on any Output without verifying its contents using other sources, especially for professional advice (like medical, financial, or legal advice)."

my comment:
If you have to check it anyway, why bother?

The polluting of the web is making it not only useless, but dangerous.
Wikipedia and a handful of other sites (that I'm still searching for) are usually accurate (but with the same disclaimer, throw in education, engineering, home repairs, cooking (with glue? ) and other disciplines)

It might be time to move onto a new topic. Let's start over.

That said, it keeps referring to "Victor's iPhone" when it pops up. WTF? (I know no Victor)... I find the whole thing irritating and intend to go into my control panel to turn it off.
