Who or what is their alternative? Who can they possibly get on the ticket at this late date? What about the states where the window closed already for their alternative? We simply accept the automatic loss of them? This is the most ridiculous bullshit ever!

(14,060 posts)The obvious replacement is Harris as she is next in line being the VP and Biden's chosen successor. The fears of a crazy convention with Harris atop the ticket are simply absurd. Her presence would immediately put an end to the concerns about our nominee being too old.
Harris may have her own issues and obstacles with voters; but it is pure nonsense to think our elected officials are not aware of who steps in if Biden drops out.

(66,380 posts)Seems like the most simple plan.
A replacement candidate is already here.
And I think if this were to happen the public would support Kamala
out of sympathy and support for Biden.

(19,023 posts)You have read false information.
No state ballots have been printed, and wont be, until the parties send the paperwork confirming their nominees.

(66,380 posts)We are on a tight time line.
Who is their preferred candidate?
How will they work through the problematic details?
They need to show facts, data, evidence that their plan will work.
I work on a lot of community events and have been doing this a long time. Everybody seems to have ideas. And "suggestions." While good ideas and "feedback" can come from anywhere, I have rules if you want to have an idea and take up meeting time talking about it.
1. You have to explain how it's going to be executed.
2. You have to be able to explain what it's going to cost and how it's going to be paid for.
3. You have to own executing the idea, especially the un-fun stuff, like the manual-labor-in-the-pouring-rain stuff.
I wish someone would make these people follow at least the first two.
