Theyve opened each A block with a Republican and asked them about the issues with his service
If I had any hair left Id be tearing it out right now.
Im so fucking infuriated, this alongside their behavior towards Trump yesterday makes me wish the entire network would fall apart

(2,921 posts)The idea that CNN is liberal media is cockamamie! Heck, the idea that any of the for-profit media is liberal is cockamamie.
GB_RN, Im not pointing at you. I know that conventional wisdom says CNN is liberal. Its just so crazy. Id LOVE to have a truly liberal news source. Instead, its like Christmas for us if one talking head speaks truth to power every so often as Lawrence ODonnell did last night.
ODonnell is almost always on the spot with his commentary. He needs to be on earlier in the evening rather than almost dead last.

(7,699 posts)There are some on the 'Net, though. If what you want is to see natinal ne==media spout truth, I ca't elp. But if you just want to find it, maybe.
Wonkette is the one that has really inherited the mantle of the Court Jester - it revels in irreverence. But that's tone. The facts are solid.
The Bulwark is more straight fact, as is Talking Points Memo - and we all know truth has a liberal bias.
Several people I know read the Guardian. I usually don't on account of the paywall. Yes, I know i can get around that through archive.is, but I it takes a little time, so I generally don't unless I'm sharing it with others.
Substack is a home for many individuals, some widely known, some less so, wo deal with news. Joyce Vance (Civil Discourse) is often on the tube as a legal analyst, and can be more detailed in her Substack. Heather Cox Richardson (Letters from an American) is a historian who is good at analogies from history. Robert Reichwas Bill Clinton's Secretary of Labor. Steve Schmidt was a co-founder of the Lincoln Project but is now writing on his own and mincing exactly zero words. Robert Hubbell is not nationally knownbut he is asharp cookie. My liberal cousin recommended him to me. ook around as Substack and I'll bet you'll discover many more people you already trust.
And of course Democratic Underground is a terrific source of reality. But that you already knew.

From The Guardians website:
Around the world, readers can access the Guardians paywall-free journalism because of our unique reader-supported model. Thats because of people like you. Our readers keep us independent, beholden to no outside influence and accessible to everyone whether they can afford to pay for news, or not.

I was a commissioned uniformed officer proudly providing my infectious disease expertise in this country and short-term deployments overseas. I never deployed long-term overseas and certainly not anywhere remotely near combat. But that sure as hell doesn't matter. Service is just that. The next time you see National Guardsmen deployed domestically to help you and your neighbors after floods, tornadoes, hurricanes, blizzards, or other, I hope you rethink why it actually DOES matter.

I'm actually a fan of both MSNBC and CNN. I think they can always do better but I don't think they are pro Trump or anti Harris. It seems that we at DU have canceled all our MSNBC anchors this past primary season except Rachel Maddox and, maybe, Joy Reid. (112,959 posts)Cable and satellite companies do keep track of traffic on various stations so if enough people are disgusted by this behavior, maybe things will change at least a little.
In any case, turning them off will lower your blood pressure and perhaps you'll find something constructive and/or pleayurable to do to replace it. You don't need them. They desperately need you.
Your cardiovascular system will thank you.

(8,292 posts)that matters less than Walz ending his Army service at the time that it suited him and his family and his future plans. I have never heard of anyone criticizing such a decision, as long as his discharge/retirement was honorable. My husband ended his career right at 20 years, he had had enough and wanted to do other things--and that was perfectly OK, no one bats an eye or questions it.

(131 posts)when Anderson Cooper 360 became Anderson Cooper 180. Just grossed me out to be honest. I liked all the leads they had on that network, Tapper, Cooper, and others... I loved Reliable Sources, of course that was the first show to be cut when the RW took over the network. Licht sounds like iiick with an L leaving seems to have not caused a course correction at all. Such a waste.

(2,799 posts)CNN is desperate for that right wing nutjob viewership, for some reason. Its a far cry from what it was when Ted Turner was still running it. They are basically trying to out faux Faux Noise at this point.
And Walz is so genuine and charismatic, they cant beat him. Few people who matter will actually give credence to Vances swiftboat bullshit attempts.
If anyone is about stolen valor, its that name-changing poseur Vance.
So sad. A once great news station has been destroyed because some billionaire decided to buy it and turn if into FOX. Such a shame.

(2,799 posts)They know theyve got nothing on Tim Walz. Hes as genuine as they come, and he knows who he is. That inspires confidence and hope in many peopleand terrifies others like Trump and Vance who are creepy, cowardly and fake.
Trump and Vance know they cant beat a man like this in an honest and fair fight, so they resort to the most underhanded means possible to try and trash and sully his image. But it isnt going to work this time because people have had enough of the same old bigotry and bullshit these fraudsters have been peddling since day one.

(3,681 posts)My cousin was in the artillery, and also lost some hearing.
But these media types-- who never sacrificed anything for their country, and make millions-- decide they need to amplify the execrable Trump-Vance. They do that instead of saying to Vance, "But you are running with a man who lied about an injury to dodge the draft. Please explain what you really think of that."

CNN and the rest of the media is about the money.
Maybe there are a few honest pod casters or online media. That just makes a fraction of a percent of the media.
