RWers are trying to claim that the "American People" are over Jan.6. JD is using that as an excuse for not answering whether Biden won the election.
I noticed a phrase trending on twitter now that encapsulates my answer to that question. HELL NO!
Yup, people are not over it and they're not shutting up about it.
Sorry, JD, you may have fooled some of the media with your "nicer, gentler" performance, but people still care about Jan.6.

Hey, J.D.! Well be ready for your BS this time. President Biden isnt going to not act like Trump did. Security will be strong. Any rioters will be very sorry if they try another insurrection.

(16,331 posts)This is a great list. Everyone should print off a copy and let people know who NOT to vote for. Lisa McClain had zero experience in government and after being sworn in her first vote was not to certify the election. She's worthless and yet the more rural part of our county re-elected her.

(1,875 posts)Foreign attacks on one's country are always awful, but there is a logic to it, however horrible. I don't expect everyone else in the world to love my country and I know that some people see violence as an answer to grievances.
But I will never find an ounce of understanding or even admit to a semblance of logic behind the actions of the J6 Insurrectionists. They had their hearings in court. They knew that there would be other elections in coming years just as Democrats knew they would have to look to the future when Gore lost and later Clinton.
Those people spat (and literally shat) upon the true meaning of America. It is not something that can ever be set aside. Whatever they hoped to accomplish that day-- had they been successful-- this country would no longer be worthy to be called a democracy, however flawed.

(24,536 posts)that a sitting president incited a mob of thousands of insurrectionists to attack the Capitol, threaten the lives of Congressional members, their staff, and their visiting families, attack the law enforcement officers protecting the Capitol, all because he refused to accept that he lost the election.
It was NOT a minor news item. People died. The 200+ year history of peaceful transfer of power - a core principle of our democracy - was violated by the effing president, FGS. He stoked the flames of sedition during the attack, refused to call it off for hours and when he finally did, he thanked the insurrectionists for their loyalty and said he loved them.
It was all pre-planned and organized far in advance. There were caches of ammunition and bombs located later in a search.
And we should forget this and "just get over it?" When hell freezes over.

(24,245 posts)to unduly influence the vote tallies at the Capitol building w/ Pence. Next time around, there should not be a waiting period for the president to step in and do something, like tRUMP did, in his delays to get the national guard out there (and of course he blames Nancy Pelosi for the delays etc., a false accusation, she was in there w/ them too, as the rioters were trying to break in).
Never, ever again. tRUMP should be arrested and charged w/ treason NOW. Justice delayed is justice delayed or never delivered as it should be. Why does the POS get off so long w/o facing a court w/ these charges?

I suppose that someday I might get 'over' it, but only after Trump is gone, either in the grave or in prison. And after the Republicans have ejected the cult members and gone back to what they were, which while odious at least wasn't trying to pull down our republic.

(18,383 posts)Stayed up so late Jan 5th re the Ossoff & Warnock results that I didn't wake up till around 2PMish that day J6.
I wasn't watching drumph.
At first at that point the DU threads were still mostly about Warnock & Ossoff, but then threads started appearing about "marching on the Capitol" etc.
WTH?!
Then like many of us; streamed the"I can't believe my eyes" events, while also following DU! Horrific. It still looks surreal at times. Like a movie.
We still need some some of the biggest players in prison!!! Including drumph.
Having a chat w a neighbor- if he doesn't go to prison at the least House Arrest, no tweeting, etc, and No Golfing either!

It may not be as miserable as prison, but I think he'd be pretty angry, and upset. (Good!!!!!)

(18,828 posts)If RWNJs think everyone else is "over" J6, they are indulging in some extremely wishful thinking. I'm sure THEY are over it, because they never acknowledged that it was a serious issue in the first place. They have always regarded J6 as a trivial non-issue and are obviously in denial about how a lot of other people feel about it.
