Anyone here old enough to remember when CNN

had reporrters "embedded" with the military during the Iraq War? It was a term they used, but it was controversial because the war itself was extremely controversial even at the time, and we were being fed the military's point of view unfiltered. Many people were angry about it, and the embedded reporters were accused of being stenographers. Before this, "war correspondents" were not embedded with the military.

Well, I noticed today that MSNBC is now called their reporters who follow cheato on the trail "embedded" campaign reporters. They're apparently proud of this, and run a chyron with this title below the reporters' name. But just as with the CNN embedded reporters during Iraq, this is not the flex they seem to think it is. Apparently, they are proud that they are being fed the cheato campaign's talking points firsthand so that they can share them unfiltered with us.

Just as during the Iraq War, I say no thanks. I didn't need embedded rightwing stenographers then, and I don't need them now.

Embedded wartime journalism started in 2003. I have researched this and remember it being covered at the time. Of course there were journalists covering WWII, at Normandy and elsewhere. That is not the same as being embedded.

Saw him on evening news almost every evening in the mid to late 60s. The man was awsome, and it was always a relief to see him on because we often wondered if he would live to send anther report.

Still sad about how he died when Jim Jones sent his murderous gang to stop the people trying to take off after visiting Jonestown. Don Harris survived Vietnam only to perish because a mad man was about to be exposed.

of NYT reporter Judith Miller who did a despicable job of mouthing what Rumsfeld and the military wanted told to the American people.

Miller rather than CNN reporters was the one who gave that term a bad name.

I didn't like it way back when, and I don't like it now.

TBH, I haven't paid much attention to MSNBC's embedded people. So, I'm not sure they're feeding us TFG's propaganda, or not. I haven't given it much thought. I will pay attention now, since you've pointed this out.

It's come to the point for me that I just don't want to hear any "reporting" about TFG, Vance, or anything to do with their campaign. I turn off their dangerous bullshit. Maybe I shouldn't, but I just cannot hear anymore from them.

I do pay attention and listen to anything in regards to Project 2025, TFG's indictments, other legal troubles, or similar issues.

Thank you.

Which means to implant or insert an object into another object. Its usage to mean a journalist attached to a military unit is very common.

It has nothing to do with being in bed with.
