Democrats can vote in today's GOP primary. There is no party registration in South Carolina.

Wonder how many will come out to vote today and whom they will vote for. The Justice Department has also blocked South Carolina's voter ID requirement--a blatant attempt by the Republican legislature and Republican Governor Nikki Haley to suppress the Democratic vote.

I know it's not possible, but that would really upset the apple cart! Even placing higher a couple of others would be great.

I still had to have my ID, so either the poll workers are ignorant of the DOJ block, or under orders to ignore the block. On the plus side, despite it being early, I was in and out of the polls in under 5 minutes with only 4 polling machines (including the sneezing fit immediately following casting my vote which makes me think I am allergic to all things rethug) which makes me think the turnout is going to be fairly low. Those who were at the polls at the same time I was were all elderly. Not sure if the Paulbot youth were still sleeping...

I got a poll worker fired once.

She was an idiot piece of work.

Got the police involved too.

If they violated the law they should be replaced immediately!!

I loved doing that!

Who did you vote for?

And good for you! I'd do it here if I could.

PS: What's the DOJ block?

the brief story is after I got finished voting my friend escorted an Armenian man into the voting booth.

We were trying to elect our friend Paul Krekorian to the Assembly.

The poll worker denied him a provisional ballot.

I said to my friend "It is time to call the attorneys"

And they were there in 5 to 10 minutes. Black suits and all... it was amazing!!

Police were called and within 30 minutes the County showed up and said... "Leave"

The poll worker was not to happy but she left and voting continued without any more trouble.

I went with the Grinch, but am now regretting it. The last I'd read had Mittens and Grinch fairly close and I didn't check before I went out this morning on a PC repair call. I didn't see the latest projections that Grinchy was polling ahead of Mittens. My logic was to keep the race as close as possible between those two and let them beat the hell out of each other to the point they are so punch drunk that Obama coasts to a overwhelming win.

*edit* Oh and the DOJ block is on SC's ludicrous voter verification law. The DOJ found that it would unfairly disenfranchise poor and African-American voters to an extreme level. The court case is pending, but the injunction is in place and the poll workers should not be requesting a photo ID.
