1. This is exactly why we should never let the south

decide economic policy for the country. They have been and will be regionally focused. Their contributions to the two greatest economic movements(Industrial revolution and the Information age is practically nil.

2. The Hughes rotary drill bit and the Texas Instrument integrated circuit

Howard Hughes Sr invented the rotary drill bit, which is essential to oil exploration and production, without which the currrent state of industry would be impossible. Not to mention that most of the crude oil supplying the nations industry has been produced by Texas, Oklahoma and Louisiana.

The integrated circuit was invented by Jack Kilby of Texas Instruments.

3. Are you making the argument that the south drove the industrial revolution or the info age

be honest. it came out of the north and west. the south was an agrarian society.
