The office of House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries denounced Thanksgiving Day threats made against Democratic members of Congress that ranged from “detailed threats of a pipe bomb placed in mailboxes to swatting.”

Each of the threats was “signed with ‘MAGA’ at the conclusion of the message,” the minority leader’s office said in a statement on Friday.

Nearly all of the House and Senate Democrats from Connecticut were the targets of bomb threats at their homes on Thursday, including Sen. Chris Murphy and Reps. Jim Himes, Joe Courtney, John Larson, Jahana Hayes and Rosa DeLauro. Police did not find evidence of devices at the lawmakers’ residences, Jeffries’ office confirmed.


The threats made toward Democrats came one day after a series of bomb and “swatting” threats made against President-elect Donald Trump’s Cabinet nominees and administration appointees earlier this week. None of the threats were found to be credible.

“Threats of violence against elected officials are unacceptable, unconscionable and have no place in a civilized society,” the statement from Jeffries’ office said. “All perpetrators of political violence directed at any party must be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.”

11. While we have the govt

Kick out every magat. Set aside Florida and at least one other southern state, take out all military and govt functions from that state, then move every Democrat out of those states, move them to a state of their choosing. Help them either get a job or give them a UBI until they have one. Forcibly... if necessary... move every maga to the chosen state(s). Put up the highest walls possible and set up electric and electronic deterrents. Let them set up their own govt with their own economy.

How much longer are we going to put up with this? Until they stand on street corners shooting everyone? Until they start blowing up buildings... again. These people have no propriety and they have a history. Before handing them the reins of our country it's time to kick them out.

Sorry... I know this is severe. What they are doing is severe. There's no living with them because they don't want it. I don't feel like having me, my family, or my friends be target practice for them. We can come to a forced compromise, but it's going to take people with power who are as po'd as I am, and its going to take the rest of us demanding it

I've been Dem my entire life. My great grandfather fought old man Koch here in ks while he was alive. But maybe it's time to stop protesting trump and maga and start protesting dems to stop being so darned wishy washy before we lose everything... Including our lives.
