But two things

I never hold anyone so high that I could be disappointed by them.

I recall a college history professor who used to spend most of our classes talking about mistresses of the Presidents. And that was before Clinton was in office.

I don't think Newt is capable of love in that way. I would pity him if he hadn't hurt so many people, and wasn't trying to amass great power so he can hurt millions more.

She went along with the gags, and delivered a very pro-military family message (yes - I know it's a repeat, but it was the fiirst time I'd seen it). I think the fact that the Obamas have younger kids made that appearance more credible.

Plus just because he takes nice pictures with his wife and kids doesn't mean he doesn't have all sorts of mistresses. His best quality might not be faithfulness, but discretion.

What matters in a president is whether he does a good job of presidenting, not whether he does a good job of husbanding.

If anything, I think drawing attention to his private life even in a positive light is a bad precedent.
