It's not surprising, even when they don't talk about it constantly, and pretend they aren't thinking it.

I'm amazed Newtie is getting a pass, but as a fresh-minted Catholic, he's in the catbird seat. There are not an awful lot of Catholics down in South Carolina--but they are well established and have been for centuries, now, so they aren't the "woowoo" religion that they are in other parts of the nation.
