We can use a glimmer.

(16,519 posts)they are just recalibrating to make sure they only fire civil servants in blue states.
We need to stop limiting our imaginations.
We need to imagine the most cruel, vile, criminal, disgusting, corrupt thing they will do, and then imagine something worse.
Do that, and we may just understand the depths they will go to.

(2,281 posts)I have not heard yet if a judge entered a stay of any kind. But the lawsuit asks for injunctive relief to stop Musk. It states that all actions he and DOGE have taken should be rendered not valid, because he did not have authority to do what he did.
It comes down to the Appointments Clause, and the Constitution, and Separation of Powers.
Have you seen the filing? It is a fun read. It is a step in the right direction.
Here is a summary in Democracy Docket, w/ a link to the lawsuit at the bottom of the article.

There was also a lawsuit filed yesterday in a MD court, on behalf of the employees at USAID. That will likely have some immediate injunctive relief, as well.
I hope Mr.LiberalLoner and his co-workers can soon see things going in a better direction.

(5,302 posts)I wonder if it's like Grassley, the "you've got to do it properly with giving us notice "type thing or a "you have no authority to do that" type of thing?

(2,340 posts)I asked if anyone there (NRCS; FSA) had been fired. She said no, not yet, but seven people in an adjacent office were fired, including employees who were literally a couple of days away from attaining permanent status. Needless to say, stressimus maximus among those competent, hard working people.

(2,340 posts)Unfortunately this does not help my friends in the Department of Agriculture. I called my congressman; he is magazi, but keep the pressure up. This does not help local economies as local rural economies depend on these jobs for stability. That is the message; I don't think outrage without an economic hook works very well.

(2,340 posts)I just hope this ends well. We have to keep the pressure on, and probably amp it up a whole lot. Glad that someone got a reprieve.
