"We are not a fucking line item."

QOTD: A Trump Voter
Published by digby on February 14, 2025

This is a Trump voter who works for the US government. Apparently, she didn’t think Trump would actually do what Project 2025 said they planned to do because Dear Leader lied to them and said he had nothing to do with it:

We voted for border security. We didn’t vote for my husband to lose his government career and benefits for which he has worked so hard.”

“This possibility is looming over countless families right now. We don’t know what our financial future holds. My husband dedicated the better part of his life to this country, first in the military and now working for the government. I have watched as he busted his ass every single day for this job. Our story is like many others, yet they [the Trump Administration] see them as budget line items.

We are not a fucking line item. We are real people with families who need to put food on the table just like everyone else. We have done nothing but support this country. To be disregarded and tossed out to save a buck is sickening. I support Trump on many things, but I won’t support him on this. He has already lost my support.”

How to tell if Donald Trump is lying on social media:

If the answer to both questions is yes, then he is lying.

Retired military and thankfully retired gov worker. It never ceased to amaze me how many gov workers and military vote against their own best interests. Most of the folks i worked with were apolitical while at work due to regulation.
Also, the belief that we need to shrink the government. I cannot recall anyone who was a drain on our operations, everyone did the work, everyone. When you look at the exponential growth of the population of the US, you can't reasonably believe we could function with a s.aller government.
All of that has been pushed by rich white men who don't want to have to pay for their abusive and damaging production practices.
And stupid people believe them because, you know ow dems are evil or some such shit....

In 2016, some of them may have been able to be excused because they didn't understand what he was saying with his word salads. Today, they ALL know what he did and how much he hurt this country... how much a damned traitor he is to this country; yet they still elected him, rape and felony status and all. There's just no way they should be surprised at any of this. This is not only a trump admin move, it's a damned republican move. What else did they think they were going to do on Day 1? These repugs told them straight out what they were going to do. And you swear up and down he never lies. So NOW you question his integrity and motives? LOL /snark.
