I think President Obama stands a good chance against either Mitt or Newt. With that in mind...

....I'd rather see him face Mitt in the general.

The whole Bain capital and Mitt's "I like to fire people" comments have shown him to be elite and out of touch. That hurts Mitt with fence sitting independents, IMHO. So I'd be willing to take a Mitt-Obama race with good odds.

I think Gingrich is even far less likable to independents than Mitt, but I just wouldn't want to see him face Obama. It's not that I'm scared of him; I'm not. I just don't want to be forced to hear months upon months of Newt's hateful, divisive, unprofessional and sometimes racist rhetoric. I don't want the country to be dragged through all of that. And I don't want to have to hear it. Give me the bland, elitist, out of touch milquetoast guy over hate, racism and fear any day.

Yes, in 2008 we had Palin. But a) Palin was freakishly fascinating as something of a bizarre human experiment, an inexperienced nobody with no public speaking skills thrust into a spotlight that she clearly couldn't handle. And b) Palin was only a VP candidate and was tempered by the comparatively bland and milquetoast John McCain.

Newt would be front and center, and knowing him, he'd probably pick someone as hateful and bombastic as he is as his VP candidate.

We'll look back on this surreal election and note it as the death knell for the rushpublican party that finally fractured under its own corruption, arrogance and ignorance. Whomever wins the nomination will be one of the most wounded candidate in modern American political history. Not only against President Obama but even within their own coven.

If Mittens wins, even if he picks Atilla the Hun as a veep, he's still at the top of the ticket and there's sure to be a lot teabaggers and fundies who will stay home...just 5% of 2008's GOTB total...could mean a big Democratic sweep, not only of the White House but downticket races as well. If its Cadrich as the nominee (:puke the establishment will quietly work to destroy him and moderates and "independents" will find other things to do on election day. Of course there's the strong possibility we'll see a third party emerge soon...either with the Paulbots who are getting real pissed about being ignored and the fundies...many who now are backing Rectorum. The longer this clown car demolition derby goes, the deeper the wounds will be and the harder it will be for the party to come together in November.

Stay tune...

people BUT we will have to listen to and live with his vile loathsomeness for the next 10 months. He is truly despicable and has shown repeatedly that nothing is too low or nasty for him to spew - remember how liberals were responsible for Susan Smith killing her two kids?

When I listen to him I get a terrible feeling in the pit of my stomach.

He is an expert at the Luntz-manipulation of language to turn everything into a smear.

Newt coupled with the coming flood of horror from RW SuperPac ads is a recipe for drowning the country in lies, smears and McCarthyism.

Ugh
