We need an automatic "release clause" when candidates file their papers to run

That clause would mandate that the IRS would automatically (and immediately) make available ONLINE ANY tax filings that candidate has made to the IRS.

There would be no funny-business or "fixing" of returns prior to the campaign dribbling them out (laden with "explanations&quot ..

Candidates who know they have tax "problems" might think again about even running.

and we would know long before they start slinging insults & pac-money around, whether or not they should be governor, senator, congressperson or president.

It should be an easy and effective "step #1" for any candidate seeking state-wide/national office.

There is no constitutional requirement that anyone seeking office tell anybody a damn thing beyond the most minimal demographic data. For the presidency a birth certificate handles the only criteria I know of -- your Name, US born and over 35.

It is the JOB of the VOTERS to NOT VOTE for people who don't reveal enough to satisfy them if they are, in fact, not satisfied.

If voters only want cadidates who release certain records then they have a handy method to register that view.
