When I was a kid one came through the wall of my bedroom.

No one was hurt, at first I was the suspect for the hole in the plaster until it was noticed it matched a hole on the outside of the house that was a bit higher up.

I've no idea if they found the bullet. I was only 9 at the time.

If you don't understand what the word "so-called" means, it is not my duty to educate you.

You may demand of me anything you want, and I shall ignore your demands, oh, so easily.

I was always taught to aim into the ground just in case of an accidental fire down in the South, but when I moved to CT I was taught to aim down range at all times as any round fired into the ground could hit a Connecticut Potato (rock) and ruin the flow of your day real quick.

Gotta love New England and it's ice age legacy of rocks everywhere. I still love the warning on a packet of carrot seeds - plant in stone free soil. Yeah right, like you'll find that in freaking New England.

Not only that, since what goes up must come down what if it hits A PERSON? A bullet fired straight up will be traveling about 300 ft. per second when it reaches its terminal velocity, but a bullet fired at an angle could be traveling much faster. Hospitals in urban areas treat "falling bullet" injuries fairly often and occasionally they are fatal. I remember a case in Texas where a dad was shooting his gun up in the air on New Years Eve and a bullet came down and penetrated the soft tissue on his young daughter's shoulder. It severed an artery and she bled to death.

We were ordered to cover every year.

One year a cop car had a round go into the engine.
