Don't ever under estimate Joe Biden.

Yeah - he's that lovable uncle buying pies at Costco, posing with bikers in a restaurant, and yes - the man that whispers BFDs in the President's ear....

But when you want a bulldog - you call in Joe.
Whether it's to give a speech to the Firefighters.
To take down an uppity Eddie Munster with just a smile - okay - laughed in his face..
or to hold Mitch "One Term President" McConnell's hand and move it over to the left....

He deserves an appreciation thread tonite.

No, we didn't get everything we wanted.... but the gopers got even less ...
and that is called negotiating.

I have to say. Obama needs more backbone????????????

Excuse me. President Obama , is the bravest. man. alive.

He, being the first black president, puts his very life on the line each and every day for us. He gets more death threats by far than anyone.

He has been threatened, ridiculed, disrespected, and had basically every kind of dog manure thrown at him possible. And he has handled it all with grace that few could muster under the circumstances.

We are all entitled to our opinions, and mine is directly opposite of yours.

At it is, some people have addictive personalities and no matter the drink or drugs will misuse.

For every person who is a stoner and doesn't work...I know tons of people who have great jobs and smoke pot on the weekend once in awhile, take or leave it.

For some reason Biden can't see that. He seems convinced by the ones who say it leads to harder drugs.

with big pharma passing out drugs legally to all by the zillions, that are so much worse, I just don't get why he would want to waste tax payer dollars pretending it's a big crime.

There's a good argument to be made that his shellacking of Paul Ryan was a crucial moment in the campaign.

Nobody serves as Senator for 30 plus years without knowing how to get shit done. The whole "Biden's a buffoon" thing is maybe good for the comics and pundits, but it ultimately works to his advantage, when he walks in and liquidates the room.

72. No one that paid attention to drug warriors in the 80's would ever under estimate Joe Biden
Tue Jan 1, 2013, 10:51 PM
Jan 2013
Biden has sponsored more damaging drug war legislation than any Democrat in Congress.

"Hate the way federal prosecutors use RICO laws to take aim at drug offenders? Thank Biden. How about the abomination that is federal asset forfeiture laws? Thank Biden. Think federal prosecutors have too much power in drug cases? Thank Biden. Think the title of a “Drug Czar” is sanctimonious and silly? Thank Biden, who helped create the position (and still considers it an accomplishment worth boasting about).

Tired of the ridiculous steroids hearings in Congress? thank Biden, who led the effort to make steroids a Schedule 3 drug, and has been among the blowhardiest of the blowhards when it comes to sports and performance enhancing drugs. Biden voted in favor of using international development aid for drug control (think plan Columbia, plan Afghanistan, and other meddling anti-drug efforts that have only fostered loathing of America, backlash, and unintended consequences). Oh, and he was also the chief sponsor of 2004’s horrendous RAVE Act...

Biden’s record on other criminal justice and civil liberties issues is just as bad. Opponents of the federalization of crime might note that the 1994 crime bill he sponsored created several new federal capital offenses. Biden also wants to expand federal penalties for hate crimes. He supports a federal smoking ban. His position on the federal drinking age is, and I quote, “absolutely do not” lower it to 18. He believes “most violent crime is related to drugs” (if he had said “drug prohibition,” he’d be closer to the truth). Biden also has an almost perfect anti-gun voting record. He said last year he favors “universal national service,” either in the Peace Corps or the military. Sounds like conscription to me. He says he’s opposed to the PATRIOT Act, but he voted for both the original bill and its re-authorization in 2005.

Foreign policy? Biden voted for the war on Iraq. Yes, he’s opposed to it now (and I like the partition plan he pushed in the primaries). But he didn’t vote correctly when it counted most. Biden also voted to send troops into Darfur. He wants to enlarge NATO. He voted in favor of the air strikes in Kosovo (THE FIRST PNAC WAR). He voted to strengthen the trade embargo against Cuba. His seems to be a meddling, interventionist, Clinton-esque foreign policy. His first instinct seems to be that the U.S. military’s objective include some vague notion of “doing good in the world.” Never mind the disastrous consequences that notion has reaped over the years..."

http://www.theagitator.com/2008/08/23/biden/

There's More "Joe Fucking Biden"!

But who is responsible for the administration's decision to prolong and even intensify the drug war, both domestically and abroad?

In a Rolling Stone article published last week, Tim Dickinson quotes a former White House official with intimate knowledge of the matter who claims that Vice President Joe Biden is a prime culprit:
"There are not many friends to legalization in this administration," says Kevin Sabet, director of the Drug Policy Institute at the University of Florida who served the White House as a top adviser on marijuana policy. In fact, the politician who coined the term "drug czar" -- Joe Biden -- continues to guide the administration's hard-line drug policy. "The vice president has a special interest in this issue," Sabet says. "As long as he is vice president, we're very far off from legalization being a reality."

The Huffington Post reached out to Biden's office for comment on Sabet's claim. It denied the request.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/12/11/joe-biden-drug-war_n_2279702.html

Joe Biden has already done plenty to the people of this nation. And if you want legal Cannabis but cheer Joe Biden, well... there's issues...
