The Supreme Court ruled in 2006 that states can be redistricted even midway between censuses. Check out United Latin American Citizens v. Perry

Their think tanks continue to scheme and send out propaganda to their faithful. Just saw a letter the other day from the Independence Institute (John Caldera in Colorado) in which he assesses "what went wrong" and what they want to do about it. It's all really quite pathetic but a stark reminder that these assholes will never stop trying to get control. They do not care about the consequences of conservative policies on the great majority of people. They do not have or ever will have the country's best interest at heart. They will continue to scheme against us by aligning themselves with greedy, selfish people and we must never forget that.

it's bullshit. In 2014 there are few vulnerable Repub Senate seats up and many vulnerable Dem seats up. That combined by years of gerrymandering House districts, makes it likely that the Repubs will make gains in both bodies.

5. They said the same thing in 2012

We were supposed to lose the Senate, fall farther behind in the House and lose the presidency. Instead we kept the White House and made gains in both houses of Congress.

The biggest problem the Rs have is the 2010 election. They went out and claimed they'd fix everything. They'd make the crops grow again. They'd fix the dust storms and the economy too. They'd also cure athlete's foot and carsickness...all in one week. Once elected they started working on getting rid of the president.

If they cannot figure out any way to create jobs that doesn't involve giving tax cuts, the streets will be filled with teabagger cadavers.

6. It's a different equation in 2014

and we can't always expect the same kind of lucky breaks we got in 2012. Not to mention that you're rewriting history with your claim that we were supposed to lose the Presidency and fall further behind in the House.

Look, most teabaggers in the House are safe. Look at their districts. In fact, they stand a greater chance of losing their seats, in most cases, if they compromise with dems than if they don't.

8. There's one characteristic that I admire about

the rethugs. ONLY one. It's their patience. They plot and plan years in advance and never give up. We Dems don't so much. I've been saying this about the "Hillary's our [only] 2016 candidate" focus since the meme began, even though she consistently said she wouldn't run and even though she'll be 69 and probably grateful to be out of the fray. This is one area we need to be like the rethugs and start right now to plan and groom strong, viable, compelling candidates for 2014 and 2016.

won Ohio comfortably, we have more Ds then Rs, but through
gerrymandering only 4 of the 16 House races went to Ds. Time and
