Assuming any substantial House amendments are stripped out in conference, meaning the final vote is on essentially the Senate deal as it stands...
I am going with 150 House Republicans voting against the Senate deal and 40 House Democrats voting against it.
('defector' is a not a pejorative here. Just meaning voting contrary to party leaders Boehneer and Pelosi who will both vote for it.)

(18,402 posts)It needs 217 to pass, right? With 190 voting against it, presumably 242 would be voting for, minus a certain number who are still in bed nursing hangovers or who abstain from voting.
My guess is that they'll pull just the exact number they need to offset the Democratic defectors ... so I'm guessing somewhere in the 180s or 190s voting against on the Republican side.

(10,960 posts)I think my guess on Republicans was sound, but I thought it would be a closer vote overall.
