Am I the only one who thought this whole 'Fiscal Cliff' was alot of media hoopla

Don't get me wrong - I know there was a chance that something bad could happen and financially it would impact us dearly.

However...

I knew this bill would have been passed before we 'went off the cliff' so to speak. I just found everytime I watched or read the news it was just a lot of 'OMG WE'RE GOING TO DIE WHEN WE GO OFF THIS FISCAL CLIFF' hype that honestly, I just wasn't buying.

and got the Bush tax break ended for the wealthy. A few other helpful things came along with that. He's working this changeover very well. Watch for more in the runup to the SOTU.

Same with the "oh, it's too close to call" crap in the previous election. The pundits I listened to (who turned out to be accurate) all said it was going to be Obama, hands down, popular and electoral vote.

So it goes when, to use an old U2 line here, fact is fiction and TV reality.

... manufactured "crisis" is the new normal.

Anyone that actually believes this "ended" much of anything, is fooling themselves.

so's you'd all latch onto it. That's the purpose which buzzwords serve - to act as a handle.

This particular one probably had lemmings in mind.
