Mitt Romney is a FREELOADER plain and simple!! He doesn't even pay 15%!!!

My goodness, why should ANY working class person want this guy NEAR the top job in the executive branch?!

I am going to work hard at getting Obama a progressive congress, it doesn't make sense for these people to continue to take from those who have less.

Regards

If he has the gall to claim the rich are over taxed, he should have to release at least 10 years of tax returns so we can see the truth of what he paid.

Call it the Romney Tax Equity Act.

Form 1040/2012

Line 1:

Enter taxable income.

Line 2:

Multiply Line 1 by 13.8%.

Your payroll and federal income taxes are now complete.
Thank you for spending five minutes filling out your return.
Enjoy your tax cut!

say he paid 14% on his $45M last year, that means he paid $6.3M in FIT. that's more than I paid by several orders of magnitude. if you call paying $6.3M in FIT "freeloading" what do you call my measly $25k?

is the foundation of liberal politics?

Mitt and his ilk want you to pay more so his cronies can pay less.

Always nice to see non-Democratic people visiting DU. Enjoy your dose of reality! (even if you're a professional reality-denier)

Romney didn't make his money in a vacuum, he used the infrastructure of the USA and its educated workforce to do it. He needs to pay his share for that usage. If he was anywhere else he wouldn't have had such an opportunity.

Romney doesn't do his own taxes; he has a financial advisor/accountant who he employs to do his taxes, and everything that accountant has done is legal. The problem is not Romney but the tax code that allows this. Most of his income is likely cap gains, and that tax rate is lower than the income tax rate.

If you have a problem with that, change the law, don't blame those who work within the law, and certainly don't name call and call out those who have a different opinion than you. That is non-democratic. And that is your reality moment for today.
