Taxes need to be raised and lowered depending upon the issues and problems facing this nation.
The WH has adopted a right wing talking point that will lead to problems in the future should we encounter a major disaster that requires higher taxes.

...you didn't read the part where it said the President will seek even more revenue from the wealthiest (number 3).

He may ask that dividends be taxed at the same rate as salaries, or certain subsidies be eliminated but not one penny more from income tax....

It only encourages them to think they have negotiating power, when we could have easily broken them on this issue.
