This is the time for the DCCC to be doing HEAVY recruiting for 2014!

They should be out there day and night, beating the bushes(so to speak)for populist fighters...regular folks types...workers, grandparents, and fighting single moms to stand up against the fight to kill Medicare and grind the 99% into the dust.

We've been given a golden opportunity to crush these bastards. The DCCC needs to take it...go "50 state" on it...fight hard in all areas...because the scales have fallen from the people's eyes and the mask has slipped off the soulless inhuman visage of the Party Of The Few.

But the work has to start TODAY.

and it will be in full force by summer. I've been involved in this type of recruiting and it's been my experience that you try to get several possible candidates who are viable to think about it. Viable means has the financial resources and is electable. The candidate has to have money to run a campaign on and to take a leave of absence from work if necessary but still be able to pay bills. Ideally, the person is in a financial position that they don't have to worry about paying bills and doesn't have to worry about a job still being there if they don't get elected. BTW, if they think they'll just work for someone that they meet during the campaign if they lose their job over this, they soon learn that no one hires a candidate that lost. The potential candidate also has to have a good ability to fund raise for him/herself and run an organization like a campaign. It's a huge commitment on the part of someone who may have never even run for office. And even then, there's no guarantee that someone else (probably recruited) will not run against them in the primaries causing lots of money to be spent in the primaries. Even if they win the primary, there may not be any money coming their way from DCCC and/or others beyond the standard $100 from the state AFL-CIO because the district is considered a safe GOP district. (No one ever tells the candidate this during the recruitment. And if pressed, the recruiter just says they would have to do some polling to be able to give a good answer. The candidate comes in with 35% support and there will be no money). If a candidate is LUCKY, they'll lose in the primary and won't have to continue 6 more months to the fall election. They can have a life again. If they're LUCKY and GOOD and they do all of the above, they'll win the primary and win in November.
