Should Reid stay on as Senate leader? If not, who SHOULD get the job?

I'd like to suggest that it's time to go there...Al Franken, Tom Harkin or Barbara Mikulski for leader.

Fuck "collegiality&quot which is gone now, anyway)...we need a street fighter leading the Senate.

Make your suggestions below.

We do need someone, at the very least, who will fight HARD to scrap the filibuster. Do you really think Reid will ever go there? If not, what good is he? And what can he ever accomplish WITHOUT challenging the filibuster?

The least powerful and least privileged of Democratic voters and Americans in general don't have the luxury of endless time to wait for the slow passage of tiny increments anymore.

and you do that by making change real to them and making it both important and crucial to their lives. Without the filibuster, the programs that got through the Senate would be much stronger and enthusiasm and engagement on the part of the electorate, and the electorate would then keep electing the kind of a House and Senate that would preserve those programs.

It's about fighting for gains, not just fighting to hold the ground.

it would be kinda ironic if LBJ jammed with them being that LBJ not running in 1968 led to John Lennon almost being deported by Nixon

see what happens when Democrats fracture? You get attempts to deport John Lennon

behind closed doors. My guess is that it wasn't very nice and it was probably relentless. Boner lost it and pulled a "Cheney" on Reid.

Getting rid of Reid would be a mistake... and it ain't gonna happen, anyways.

My opinion.

I do not like Schumer... not at all.

I cannot see another Senator in a leadership position who I would want, other than Durbin.

(of course Reid is not going, but lets fantasize a little).

It would be great for the coming 100% amnesty, 100% citizenship coming by 2014.

There is no person more better suited than Bob Menendez. It would be ground breaking.

Am very fond of him.

Also like Durdin, Harkin, Franken, and Warren. She's tougher than any of these guys...

If only Leahy were younger (his age amd physical condition are catching up on him), he'd be fine, same with Sanders, but he's more spry.
