Quick, obvious thought about "small" businesses vs. Obamacare

Every time someone mentions raising the minimum wage, you get tons of businesses claiming that they'll have to reduce staff. It's just what they do. Anything that might require them to put more money towards the people who work for them causes them to start with the "reduction in staff" threats. So, this really has little to do with Obamacare. It's just business as usual.

And I say this as someone who has family members who run businesses, some of whom will actually be required to do something under Obamacare.

Which isn't cheap or good for business.

Costco does it right, and they're profitable. More importantly their employees are happy. Imagine that!

It's time to admit that lots of business owners are just not that bright.

I don't know why they don't get how costly turnover is. I think having a bunch of fairly happy long-term employees who feel valued and thus are more likely to care about your business would HELP businesses. Instead, they want to treat workers like crap. I don't get it.

employees that they don't need to perform task necessary for the business to be competitive. I guess there are a lot of companies with people n the books just out of the goodness of their hearts.
