If not...what would you do?
Along with hunger and the homeless, I'd mostly support the arts (theatre mostly) with programs creating jobs in the arts and arts in education.

(61,588 posts)Yeah, he inherited some of it (from similarly greedy psychopathic ancestors no doubt) but he added to his millions by driving companies into the ground, laying off all their employees, and raking in the millions from shorting their stock. Or whatever it is that Bain does. It's not clear to me. It's not supposed to be clear to me. All I know for sure is that the company made billions by destroying people's lives and driving the U.S. economy into the cellar.

(26,549 posts)Generally the first generation with gobs of money is fine. 'Cause they actually had to work for it.
It's the kids who are "self rightous, greedy, out of touch, egomaniac, douche bags", because they never had to work. If they do, it's because it's a hobby.

(6,716 posts)I have often wished I could buy a few empty lots in my town and transform them into public parks. I would also like to sponsor a program that would help homeowners in the neighborhood fix up their houses.
I guess there are a lot of "little" things I would like to do. I wish I could tip more to waitresses/waiters, etc. who bust their ass day in and day out and still manage to provide amazing service. I envy those who can tip 100% or more.
Maybe one day...

(8,694 posts)He should be generous to the wounded veterans sent to fight in wars he SUPPORTED. He could build state of the art rehab centers. Maybe his five whole and healthy sons could volunteer time and money.
I wonder how much of Romney& Sons investment fortune was from war profiteers?

(33,688 posts)most of it would be sitting in a foundation giving grants to things like special schools for Asperger's kids (I'm a dx'd Aspie) Planned Parenthood, the local symphony orchestra, animal shelters and other good causes.
I appreciate the good things in life (a prairie style home, nice furnishings, sports cars, etc) but my list of wants is clear and finite.
