Senator Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.) Juggles Kid, Bible, Mussed Hair During Swearing In

They may be getting sworn into the Senate today, but for Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.), Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) and Ted Cruz (R-Texas), their kids were the ones who stole the show.

First was Gillibrand's son, held atop his mother's hip as she lightly touched the Bible during a mock swear-in with Vice President Joe Biden.

Midway through the oath, Gillibrand's son reached out his hand and ruffled his mom's hair. With a big smile, Gillibrand proceeded with the oath as she tried to tamp down her hair.

and Joe was on the entire time. Everyone got the oath, a photo, and some schmoozing. If it was the 60's, he would have hopped a plane afterwards to Vegas to hang with Frank and Dean.

from the 63% she got before that.

Very sharp mind, picks her issues carefully, no known enemies, been spreading her huge war chest around and campaigning for other Dems...

And, although she's a little embarrassed and sometimes annoyed by it all, there's that "adorable" factor where everyone just likes her.
