Please, oh please, dear please Michelle Bachmann - please run for US Senate

I could think of nothing more entertaining then watching Al Franken having to debate an idiot like Michelle Bachmann. And even though it befuddles me how Bachmann manages to get re-elected each term for her USHouse seat, I am confident that Franken would win in a landslide if it was a Bachmann vs. Franken race.

The debates between these 2 would be comic glee because Bachmann would say something totally dumbass and Franken is witty enough to come up with the perfect reply.

The jokes would write themselves!

I would bet that Franken would be happy as hell to debate her.

2. I'd pay to watch a debate between Franken and Bachmann.

As a resident of Minnesota, I am very proud Franken is my Senator and very embarrassed that Bachmann is one of our Representatives (not my district - I'm in Ellison's, fortunately - but, still...). Franken would eat her lunch. He's not only witty, he's very, very smart and well-informed; what a lot of people don't know is that he graduated cum laude from Harvard with a degree in political science. The guy is a serious brain. Bachmann, however, is an idiot (having graduated from Bible-Thumper School of Law and Nonsense), and nothing would demonstrate that more clearly than a debate between her and Franken. I can't wait.

4. That was pretty much like watching Chris Coons debate the Witch.

Coons not only had a Yale Law degree with a background in constitutional law but even a divinity degree from Yale. O'Donnell well she was just a dimwit who thought a republican sponsored week training about the Constitution somehow made her an expert. Coons is kinda low-key mild manner where Franken's advantage is the years of writing for SNL gave him a very sharp speaking manner.

It was really very depressing. So many Akin supporters. It was really shocking.

She would never prevail in a state wide republican primary

Yes, I'm a Debbie downer.

As much fun as it would be (for us) to watch, they're not going to give her the go ahead on that. Even if she thinks she can win a statewide election, the money people have to know it would be impossible. And as much as the right wing hates Franken, there is no way they'd throw him such a softball.

9. I think that's right. She gets a lot of money from outside the state

but it looks like the teabaggerati have fallen a bit out of favor, so that gravy train might get derailed. I would expect someone more like John Kline from the 2nd district to run against Franken. Kline is nuts, too, but not in such an obvious way, so the GOPers might be more likely to support him.
