Should Obama nominate Hagel for DEFENSE??

I think so. If only for political reasons.

It would show how extreme the Republican Party has become. They will no longer approve a moderate Republican. We know that several Democrats are against him also.

Just think of how this would look to the public.

I suppose if one must resurrect the Ghost of Republicans past, Hagel is as good as any.

Yes, unless he has a Dem equally pro-defense-cuts. I admire Hagel's guts to speak out against our insane military expenditures.

Imagine if even 10% of the defense budget were spent on creating eficcient solar cells and better batteries, or safer nuclear plants.

It's not like "we" just won a landslide election or anything is it?

It's a joke. It's all a big charade.

head of an agency in a supposedly Democratic administration.

Can't wait to see what he comes up with for the next Secretary of the Treasury.

(who also happens to be qualified for the job) than Hagel--plus he has the trust of Obama, Joe Biden and John Kerry. Goes beyond politics, IMO.
