I think so. If only for political reasons.
It would show how extreme the Republican Party has become. They will no longer approve a moderate Republican. We know that several Democrats are against him also.
Just think of how this would look to the public.

(21 posts)Yes, unless he has a Dem equally pro-defense-cuts. I admire Hagel's guts to speak out against our insane military expenditures.
Imagine if even 10% of the defense budget were spent on creating eficcient solar cells and better batteries, or safer nuclear plants.
