Sounds like its going to be Joe Biden/Julian Castro for Dem Pres and VP in 2016

Column: Julian Castro positions himself for 2016

DeWayne Wickham6:48p.m. EST November 26, 2012

Julian Castro is quietly forging a path that could put him in the White House in 2016.

The second-term Democratic mayor of San Antonio made his debut in the national spotlight this year when he became the first Hispanic to give the keynote address at a major political party's national convention. Since then, a confluence of good moves and good timing is positioning Castro to be as big a political surprise in 2016 as Obama was in 2008.

I liked Hillary, but with her not being able to fly internationally any more rules her out for President I think.

John Adams doesn't count - he was the first Vice President and nobody yet really knew how powerless that position actually was at that point.

Martin Van Buren was Andrew Jackson's heir apparent, but he was only named VP for the second term because Jackson's enemies in the Senate blocked his appointment as Minister to England (initally, Van Buren was in the then-traditional springboard to the presidency - Secretary of State - Madison, Monroe, and John Quincy Adams all went directly from SOS to POTUS, and Jefferson had served as SOS in the Washington administration).

To be honest, I've always seen the last two Vice Presidents (Cheney and Biden) as kind of a return to the traditional Vice President - (albeit, both of these men were/are much more involved in the administration than the traditional VP) - someone who's not expected to be the standard bearer in eight years.

from flying or being first in line to the Presidency.

They have low dose blood thinning injections that they can give now before any long flight, if it turns out she needs it.

There could be any number of reasons she might not run, but this won't be it.

Usually the votes in the nat'l legislature are too easy to be attacked. Bills have weird things in them or attached to them, which legislators sometimes don't know, or they vote for a bill because the main thing in the bill is more important than the pork in it.

It is going to be a woman. (and Hillary is the singular most qualified of anyone in any party.)
and only Hillary45 can beat Jeb Bush(or Rubio or any candidate.)

None of the others can beat Jeb Bush.

Biden would make a great VP for Hillary45. Along with many others including Mass. greatest Deval Patrick or Vicky Kennedy.

a ten year old playing with his bicycle gets these all the times and 40 years later the ten year old is 50. Every single hockey player or soccer player gets one a week probably.

Hillary45 always has yet another thing people use against her, and it matters little as her fans plus President Obama's fans number in the millions and the only reason she did not win in 2008 was because of President Obama's fans who will be there for her this time.

Any dissent in the media is just a part of the vast rightwing conspiracy Hillary45 said famously so many years ago. People didn't believe her then, but they sure know now.

Hillary45's VP could also be the new Virginia Governor in 2014. They worked well together in the past. You never know.

Hillary56 for the continuation of President Obama's 8 years.
Who would want a change from that anyhow?
(wish the President could run for 4 terms like FDR did).

and Hillary45 can name President Obama to the US Supreme Court in 2018. If we are lucky as Chief Justice on Roberts retirement.

he is a skillful politician and a good man.

But I don't see him running for President in 2016. Reagan was 70 when he was elected to office. Biden is 70 and would be nearly 75 in 2016.

He has served his country well but I think at that age, for his own health and concern for his family, etc. he should be allowed to move to private life. I am sure he will stay engaged in politics but not necessarily as a politician.

Hillary will be 70 in 2016. I'm not suggesting that immediately disqualifies her but doesn't she have a right, after years of public service whether as First Lady of Arkansas and later the U.S. to her years in the Senate and her tour of duty at State, to go into private life?

We need to start grooming the next generation of Democratic leaders. I saw some of the sparkle, enthusiasm and excitement in the two Castro brothers during the 2012 Democratic Convention in Charlotte. Hispanics are an important factor in politics and will become more important over time. The Republicons are definitely placing hopes in Marco Rubio.

But where are the younger generation of Asian-Americans, African-Americans, Native Americans etc. that can be groomed? Who are the prospective women leaders? Who are the prospective LGBT leaders - Tammy Baldwin should be watched carefully. Who are the disabled leaders that can bring their unique perspective to leadership - Tammy Duckworth comes to mind.

We are the "big tent" party and need to recruit and groom our wonderfully diverse pool of capable progressives for service.

Biden and either Amy Klobuchar or Kristen Gillibrand would work, both women are young and then would be in line to serve for 8 years as President. Castro is too young and does not have national prominence, but he could run as the VP of one of the women or Joe Kennedy II can run as the VP. If we don't eat our young by being too "pure" and criticizing them for everything, our bench well into the future is strong.

I like Joe and respect his 40 years of service to making our country a better place. But the man is just too old. He would become president at age 74, for crying out loud. Not only would he be the oldest person to become president, I'm pretty sure he'd be the oldest person to ever be NOMINATED for president as well.

And the other guy is simply way too young and inexperienced.
